Torrential rain and thunderstorms have just pounded Wyoming’s Logan Hill, and as the storms head east, a southbound Union Pacific coal train climbs the hill at Logan at sunset on July 4, 2019.

The sun does not get much lower than this as the last few minutes of direct sun illuminates UP 7489 (AC45CCTE) as it runs light out of the UP's Cheyenne Yard.

With a head-end manifest block, a result of Union Pacific's newly adopted precision scheduled railroading, the westbound ZNPOA follows the meandering Humboldt through rugged Palisade Canyon.
